Job Description

TMD Staffing is looking for a highly motivated opportunistic experienced Business Development Representative.  The Business Development Representative’s objective and function is to solicit and bring new business to the Company, as well as, servicing new and existing accounts. Perform all sales and service functions for targeted markets by making outside cold calls, direct sales calls, client meetings, service calls and unexpected drop bys in an effort to build business relationships and become a supplier of temporary employees to qualified prospects. This position will have the following essential job duties and responsibilities as follows:



  • 70 percent of the working day is devoted to outside solicitation of new clientele, client meetings / visits. This person is also responsible for follow-up phone calls, services calls, email contacts and trade show meetings.

  • Cross selling through reviewing resumes, web browser, etc.  

  • Perform the functions required to include initiate and follow-up with customers to sell or resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence and reports.

  • Prepare and present proposals, quotes and recommends candidates.

  • Prepare, calculate and negotiate rates with clients.

  • Responsible for completing the Staffing Services Agreement once a new account has been established. 

  • Create and maintain computer files and suspense for follow-up action through Sales Force.

  • Must be able to maintain a team spirit and be available to help with operations in times of need as set forth by upper management.

  • Must be able to maintain a neat, professional appearance and possess excellent oral and written communications.

  • Provides advisory support and assistance to the department supervisor as needed.

  • Attend sales seminars, sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends, regulations in the market place

  • Prepare electronic correspondence, reports and other forms of written communications.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years outside sales experience in a cold calling (B2B) and relationship building environment
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
• Positive attitude with a proven track record of goal achievement
• Excellent written, computer and verbal communication skills
• MUST be motivated, a self-starter and goal driven
• Solid ability to build and maintain relationships
• Ability to multi-task
• Problem solving mentality
• The ability to express ideas and thoughts clearly, concisely, and professionally while listening and gaining clarification
• The ability to prioritize and plan actions in order to meet or exceed sales quotas and objectives
• Valid auto insurance
